About the Project
For my doctoral project, I researched the gender biases in higher low brass education. The three main sections involved were the following:
1. Background: The gendering of instruments and beginning of discrimination at the K-12 level.
2. Databases: I created three databases comprising of all the trombone, tuba/euphonium, and general low brass professors of every public four-year university that offers a degree in music.
3. Survey: I designed and wrote a survey to collect information about the experiences of any female and transgender/gender non-conforming low brass professors.

The following three databases are based on the 2024-2025 school year. Please submit any changes in the form below to update this database. Keep in mind that these databases include four-year public institutions. The three databases are below: trombone, tuba/euphonium, and general low brass.
